Wilmer's story is a lesson in resilience, tenacity, and perseverance. After his father's passing, Wilmer's family had to abandon their farm due to inherited debt. His mother and sister moved to a nearby city but Wilmer decided to stay and work to recuperate the farm. Within a few years he thrivingly managed to turn things around and pay off his family's debt. However, in an unfortunate turn of events, upon hearing of his success his family returns greedily and demanded their farm back despite having abandoned it. Selflessly, Wilmer accepts this, and chooses to start over on his own.

Over the next few years, Wilmer starts his new farm in a raw mountain jungle. He would spend his days working in nearby farms and return in the evenings to work on his own. With the help of a few workers, he planted nearly 7000 coffee trees of different varieties. Not only was he able to purchase the family farm back and connect it to his current farm, but with his vision and motivation, he'll continue to invest and grow.

Huila is Colombia’s most prolific coffee growing region. With high altitude and volcanic soil, farms sit on rich, nitrogen dense ash from the nearby mountain peaks in the Andes and Colombian Massif. Clouds limit sun exposure resulting in microclimates that allow the cherries to ripen slowly. A slow maturation concentrates sugars and builds dense, complex beans.
